In the vineyard: 

We have had a very good and easy growing season for 2017. The vines are in good balance and have stopped their vegetative growth so they can put all their resources into ripening.  However the most important part of the vintage is about to begin. August has been a bit wetter than we would like. Ideal harvest weather would be highs in the 70sF and lows in the 50sF with little rain.

In the cellar: 

Bottling will be finished soon as we empty barrels to make room for vintage 2017. All the crush equipment is now in place and cleaning is a big priority. We will take our first grape samples on August 21. Lab tests for sugar and acid will give us a better indication of when harvest will start. Right now we are focusing on September 1.

In the Tasting Room: 

Our tastings are open to all visitors (over the age of 21!). Linden’s  hours are from 11:00 to 5:00 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. There is a $8.00 tasting fee (no charge for case club members and their guests). We are currently tasting: Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Chardonnay 2015, Rose 2016, Claret 2014, and Petit Verdot 2013. Additionally, in-depth Cellar Tastings are held on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00. You can reserve a place when you arrive. The cost is $25.00. In the cellar we are tasting: Avenius Chardonnay 2015 and 2014; Boisseau and Hardscrabble Reds 2013; Late Harvest Vidal 2009 and Late Harvest Petit Manseng 2010.

Linden’s in-depth vineyard and cellar tours are on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:15. No reservations are necessary and there is no charge for the tour. For more detailed information about visiting Linden, look under ‘Your Visit’. We cannot accept groups larger than four at Linden.
