In the vineyard:
Recent hot temperatures have pushed vine shoot growth. We were as much as ten days ahead of normal, but a cool mid-May slowed things down a bit. All vines are healthy and have large potential crops. It seems that our worries about cold damage from a mid-March cold snap were unfounded (one hopes).
In the cellar:
We have transitioned back to the vineyard. Cellar work is saved for rainy days. The aromatic whites from 2016 are bottled, but most require some bottle aging. The exception is the 2016 Rose which was released March 25.
In the Tasting Room:
Our tastings are open to all visitors. Linden’s hours are from 11:00 to 5:00 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We will be closed on Monday, May 29. There is a $8.00 tasting fee (no charge for case club members and their guests). We are currently tasting: Chardonnay 2015, Rose 2016, Riesling Vidal 2015, Claret 2014, and Petit Verdot 2013. Additionally, in-depth Cellar Tastings are held on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00. You can reserve a place when you arrive. The cost is $25.00. In the cellar we are tasting: Avenius Chardonnay 2015 and 2014; Boisseau and Hardscrabble Reds 2013; Late Harvest Vidal 2009 and Late Harvest Petit Manseng 2010.
Linden’s in-depth vineyard and cellar tours are at 11:30 on Saturdays and Sundays. No reservations are necessary and there is no charge for the tour. For more detailed information about visiting Linden, look under ‘Your Visit’. We cannot accept groups larger than four at Linden.
