In the vineyard: Pruning is underway. For the next few months this will be our main vineyard task. We start with older vines and then move to recently planted vineyards. This is our favorite job. Temperatures are never too cold, but sometimes the wind can send us looking for cellar work!
In the cellar: 2016 Red blending trials and evaluations began on January 2, 2017, but we have taken a break as some of the wines are slow to develop. The Avenius Reds were absolutely regal. We are very excited about the reds this vintage. Possibly the best ever…… 2016 Rose will soon be bottled and then released in April once spring settles in.
In the Tasting Room: Our tastings are open to all visitors. Linden’s “winter hours” are from 11:00 to 5:00 Saturdays and Sundays only. There is a $7.00 tasting fee (no charge for case club members and their guests). We are currently tasting: Boisseau Viognier 2015, Riesling Vidal 2015, Claret 2014, Petit Verdot 2013, Petit Verdot 2014. Additionally, in-depth Cellar Tastings are held at noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00. You can reserve a place when you arrive. The cost is $25.00. In the cellar we are tasting: Avenius Chardonnay 2013 and 2014; Boisseau and Hardscrabble Reds 2013; Late Harvest Vidal 2009 and 2010.
Linden’s in-depth vineyard and cellar tours are at 11:30 on Saturdays and Sundays. No reservations are necessary and there is no charge for the tour. For more detailed information about visiting Linden, look under ‘Your Visit’. We cannot accept groups larger than four at Linden.
