Native Cover Crops | Blue Field Madder

We are shoot thinning in earnest right now. Our eyes are focused on the low growing trunks and canes. Looking down all day, we are especially appreciative of the often overlooked. Blue Field Madder produces a delicate, low growing carpet that you want to pet. Beautiful tiny purple flowers brighten the vineyard understory.  A minor player right now, but over the years it has been slowly spreading.
