Linden wines have a distinct style. They are concentrated, mineral, and refreshing rather than fruit driven. They often require significant aging to reach their full potential. Our wines are best enjoyed as a complement to a meal.
Since Linden’s first vintage in 1987, our focus has been in the vineyards. We now have three distinct sites, each one with an evolving personality. We nurture our vines and raise our wines in a manner that best expresses the character of each vineyard site. The wines from Hardscrabble Vineyard are cerebral and complex. Avenius Vineyard gives us wines that are edgy and energetic. Boisseau Vineyard produces hedonistic and lush wines.

Our Vintages
The weather conditions of any given growing season have a direct and substantial impact on the quality, style, balance, and life of any wine. This is particularly true in the northern European and eastern US winegrowing regions.
Beginning in the mid 1990s I looked to my European colleagues for guidance in understanding how to make wines appropriate to the vintage. Since those first explorations, I have taken their cue on reducing crop levels according to the strength of the vintage, picking by soil type, blending, declassification, appropriate barrel regimes, and bottling times. No two vintages will ever be the same. This is both a challenge and a blessing.
As each new wine is released, our pricing will vary according to the success of the vintage. I feel strongly that growing conditions are intrinsically linked to a wine’s quality.
All of our individual wines are listed here, including wines that have sold out. With proper storage (cool and dark) many of our wines age beautifully. For those of you fortunate enough to have in your cellars some older Linden vintages, you will be able to access information on them below.
