Spring Comes to Linden

New wines, new tastings, and Fridays.

Spring Wines

What says Spring more than Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling?

If you are not able to schedule a visit to Linden this spring, we have put together a four-pack Spring sampler.

Spring Four-pack

2019 Riesling

We’ve been patiently waiting for this wine to knit together. Drier styled Rieslings require more time to show their stuff. The time is right.

Aromas of stone dust and orange zest. A refreshing quality on the palate with stone fruits (plum and apricot), just a hint of sweetness and firm acidity.

2020 Avenius Sauvignon Blanc

The vines are now 27 years old. Old vines make stylistically different wines. The wines become less varietal and more terroir driven. They also develop a more confident core and density that allows them to age gracefully.

Aromas of ripe mango and orange zest belie typical Sauvignon Blanc markers and take on the personality of terroir.

Texturally dense and layered entry with a suggestion of pink grapefruit. This wine finished with the classic Avenius concentrated mineral acidity.

2020 Hardscrabble Sauvignon Blanc

The aroma is classic Sauvignon Blanc pungent lime and fresh cut grass. Wake up. This wine pops with mouthwatering, crunchy, crystalline acidity. If there was a wine appropriate for breakfast, this would be it.

2021 Rosé

Does Rosé have to be only fun and sassy, or can it also be complex? The aromas have classic pretty red fruit high notes (think cranberries and sour cherries), but there is also an infusion of fennel, mint and tarragon and even a bit of cold ocean spray.

On the palate, the entry is fruity, lush, and spritzy. But don’t be deceived. Instead of fading away into the sunset, this wine is just getting started. It is all about the finish. A tightly wound acidity meets pithy tannins that play the long game. Not your Mama’s Rosé.

Spring Tastings

Vintage and Terroir Focus

We’ve been holding back. Over the past several years we’ve adapted a different model. Instead of selling out completely, many vintages are reserved for future release. The future is now. Our tastings focus on two aspects of wine: vintage and terroir.

Vintage influences style. Wines from different growing conditions can be remarkably distinct. Terroir influences personality and has been the heartbeat of Linden. Each of our three vineyards have different traits. You can taste the difference.

Spring Hours

Beginning April 1 Linden will be open to all on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. All tastings are by reservation only. As we have done in the past, Friends of Linden members can enjoy a seated tasting. Casual visitors will now have the opportunity to taste at our tasting counter.

We hope to see you soon.
