Linden Update | January 2019

Snow is magical and we love it at Linden. Snow doesn’t have any significant impact on the vines, but it does slow our pruning efficiency. Heavy boots and wet pant legs beg for shorter workdays.

It would be sort of a worst-case scenario, but snow could actually be helpful. Snow can act as an insulator against extreme cold temperatures (below 0°F). The vine’s tender graft union is only a few inches above the ground. A thick snow cover serves as a thermal protection. Lets hope this won’t be an issue.

Linden Evolution Seminars | Reservations

Linden will recommence a series of in-depth seminars that focus on our thirty years of winegrowing. These initial tastings will be led by Jim Law in Linden’s library. Older and current vintages of Hardscrabble Red, Hardscrabble Chardonnay and Late Harvest will be presented. These educational seminars are geared to wine geeks. How does a winegrower fine-tune and adapt as experience builds?

The first seminars will be held on Sunday, January 27 and Sunday, February 10. Reservations can only be made on Linden’s website (No phone reservations accepted).

Space is very limited, but please know that we will continue this series throughout the year, so there will be plenty of opportunities in the future.
